Local Experts Join Forces to Strengthen Online Business Community at Vermont’s First Web Marketing Summit

Vermont’s first Web Marketing Summit will be held on September 16,2010 at the Main Street Landing Film House in Burlington.  The fast evolving trends in internet marketing, the exploding social media scenario, and the nervousness that still exists in making shifts to online investments has prompted the urgency of this summit. Small and medium sized businesses as well as non-profit organizations will benefit from attending.

The daylong summit will feature local web marketing experts who apply global best practices to drive businesses. They will share their approach to different marketing channels, knowledge on how to measure these channels, and their successes with helping brands to be increasingly attractive on the web. Panelists include Alec Newcomb, Executive Vice President, mywebgrocer; Chris Middings, Web Editor, Seventh Generation; Tom Funk, Vice President of eCommerce Marketing, Timberline Interactive; Dr. Elaine Young, Assistant Dean, Champlain College Division of Business; and Bibi Mukherjee, Founder, Curve Trends Marketing

The primary goal of the summit is to actively engage participants from the local online community and businesses. The event will also provide a platform for sharing insights on new online marketing channels and tools that can be leveraged, exchange ideas on what’s currently being done right with online marketing, and finally focus on ways to maximize returns on  resource investment on the web.

Attendees will take away an in-depth understanding of how to assess their need for integrating web marketing campaigns with other marketing channels, including social media options. Discussions will cover how offline and online tools need to be coordinated and measured with search marketing and social campaigns in order to maximize the effectiveness of all channels involved.
